Cities Across the Country Celebrate Canada Day


Canada’s 146th birthday is upon us and it is time to celebrate like it’s 1867! Cities across the country have big plans for commemorating the Constitution Act, from skateboarding competitions to pancake breakfasts, concerts to extravagant fireworks displays.

Here’s a look at where you can find some of Canada’s best parties this weekend:

Ottawa

The country’s capital is known for throwing the biggest birthday bash around, with live performances by famous musicians held at Parliament Hill. The Governor General and the Prime Minister are sure to attend. And of course, the night is topped off with fireworks over the Ottawa River. More info.

Granville Island hosts one of the most popular Canada Day celebrations, with a pancake breakfast, live jazz music and a South Asian cultural show. The city also celebrates with bike races, a parade and fireworks. More info.
